Deck Permit
If the deck is more than 30 inches above grade, a building permit is required.
Per Township Ordinance #245, which went into effect on October 5, 2022, there is no longer a minimum lot size requirement for Stormwater Management, please see the updated requirements below:
- For projects adding 500 – 999 square feet of impervious coverage, the simplified method for managing stormwater should be followed.
- For projects adding 1,000 square feet and above of impervious coverage, the fully engineered stormwater management should be followed.
- Effective February 2, 2014, all new impervious coverage is tracked cumulatively.
Please utilize the checklist below to make sure you have all the required forms. If you have any questions, please call the Codes Office at 610-933-4424.
- Zoning Permit Form
- Building Permit Form - Required if the proposed deck is > 30" above grade
- Structure Placement Form
- Plot Plan of property showing locations of existing and proposed structures with dimensions to the property lines, setbacks, easements, slope, septic fields, etc.
- Construction Drawings - 3 sets
- Permit Application Fee
- Contractor Registration Form
Other Possible Requirements
- Storm Water Application
- Professional Services Agreement
Important: All impervious coverage added after 2/5/2014 is subject to tracking by the Township. All impervious coverage is in the aggregate. For example, if you add an improvement that is under the threshold for Stormwater management, that amount is tracked and added to any further expansion of impervious coverage and all coverage must be managed at that time. Any impervious coverage added over 1,000 square feet is not eligible for the Simplified Approach to Stormwater Management.
